Gardiner Adult Education to sponsor a trip to France
This educational group tour departs on March 21, 2011 for a nine day adventure in France. This visit will include a guided tour of Paris, tours of the Louvre and Notre Dame cathedral, an illuminated nighttime tour of the major monuments and a ride on the Seine via a bateau mouche. We will take a "side trip" to Versailles Palace where lavish decoration may be an understatement! Also included are visits to the Normandy beaches, the walled city of St. Malo, and the Loire Valley to see the castles built by the kings and learn of the events that took place there. The final stop is at Chartres Cathedral which is considered by many to be the most beautiful gothic cathedral in Europe especially famous for its stained glass windows.
An informational meeting will be held on June 8, 2010 at 6pm in room 120 at Gardiner Area High School. Brochures will be available, a short presentation will be made and a question / answer session will follow. The trip is being coordinated by Bev. Fernald LaPlante a former French teacher who has visited France many times with her students. All are welcome attend the meeting. Call 582-3774 for more information.
