Anyone can learn yoga! This is a yoga class for those new to yoga or those wanting a basic flow class. This class introduces foundational yoga postures, teaches you how to breathe, introduces stretching techniques, and helps you feel more comfortable in the yoga practice. This class will move at a slower pace to help the individual feel the benefits of the yoga poses. Expect to be challenged both mentally and physically! Dress in loose clothes and bring a yoga mat.
Have you wanted to try tai chi but felt like learning a whole form was too much? Come play Tai Chi Flow! You'll learn a few basic tai chi and qigong movements in a flowing manner without the sequencing that is typical of tai chi forms. This is a great introduction to tai chi, and also a reinforcement for basic tai chi principles for people with previous tai chi experience.
This class includes CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) for adult, child, and infant, as well as AED (automated external defibrillator) and first aid. Students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and care for individuals in emergency situations including cardiac arrest. Emphasis will be on providing basic care until advanced medical care personnel arrive and take charge. American Heart Association CPR certification will be awarded upon successful completion of class requirements. Class may run until 9:00pm.
This class is a continuation of Yoga 1 or for those who want to refresh their yoga. The class will continue to work on foundational yoga postures, breathing, stretching techniques, and help you feel more comfortable in your yoga practice. We’ll also learn new poses and discuss ways to incorporate yoga practice into everyday life activities. Expect to be challenged both mentally and physically! Dress in loose clothes and bring a yoga mat.
Cooking Your Way is a fun interactive series with 3 independent online session and 3 hands on workshops. Online sessions cover MyPlate, Smart Snacking and Food Safety. Hands on workshop topics will be creating and sampling healthier recipes, saving money at the grocery store (including a $10 gift card) and increasing daily physical activity. All EFNEP programs are designed for income eligible adults with children under 18.
